This course concentrates on the 'pathology' of racial and cultural prejudice and bias. Participants explore and examine a process for healing that includes opportunities to learn more about their own biases and conditioning. Fact based information is provided about cultural roots and misinformation that gets in the way of people working as united teams. Participants get answers to the following questions and more:

  • What are the differences between preference, prejudice, and racism?
  • Will a person's biases ever go away?
  • Are some stereotypes about cultural groups really true?
  • Can people really leave biases at home and not affect the workplace? If so, how?
  • What barriers need to be crossed at work and why?
  • Are racial slurs ever O.K. by any group?
  • Do cultural groups have grossly different core values and work ethics?

Provide updated research-based information to help transform the biases and prejudice of people using DIALOGUE. The general course is a prerequisite. The attendees gain in-depth insight into how and where they formed opinions about target groups of people in a safe and respectful environment. The participants engage in an interactive forum with peers to move beyond their current level of thinking or performing their job. Some private testing instruments are provided.
